Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K Running Plan
by Jack Richins
Found this on the web as I was looking for a plan to follow to get back into exercising. I’m about 2 weeks into it and so far think it’s pretty good. This plan has you start off jogging for only 60 seconds then walking for 90 seconds – alternating back and forth for 20 minutes. I think more than anything the beginning helps you establish the habit of making time for exercise. If you start too hard, you injure yourself or get overwhelmed and give up. This way, you are not pushing yourself very hard at first and by the time you get going and really pushing (about the 3 week mark), you at least have the habit of doing it every day. The site has lots of good resources for runners, so check it out.
