About 1 hour into our drive to my home town for Christmas at 6 am (we were trying to ge an early start to avoid bad weather over mountain passes) my wife casually asks if I remembered to pack my presents to her. DOH!!! All that hard work shopping down the drain – the present are safely hidden from her eyes, and mine evidently, back at home.
Other than that, the long drive with two young children went incredibly well and we even found a shortcut that saved 15 minutes (hey, every minute counts and more importantly, I was right :)). Now to brave Christmas Eve crowds for a few little things to soothe my wife.
